Every day, people come to us to access healthcare services, either in-person at our clinics or virtually through our call center or WhatsApp-based chat. In the process, they provide vital information.
When you share your health details with us, you’re placing a deep trust in Rivia. We don’t take that lightly.
This is our promise to you: we will do everything humanly and technically possible to ensure your data stays where it belongs: between you and your provider.
Here’s how we protect what you share with us, in plain language.
1. We See a Person, Not a Data Point.
Your medical history, your chats with our doctors, your lab results, diagnoses, and medication—this isn’t just “data” to us. It’s YOU. A human being. Seeing your data as a “human being” forces us to think more intimately about how it’s used, who it’s shared with, and for what purpose—because we are humans too, and we treat your information with the same care we would want for our own.
2. We Are Privileged.
We are incredibly privileged to be entrusted with your data. And we never want to fall out of grace—because the consequences of betraying your trust aren’t pleasant. This guides us in everything we do.
3. The Technical Part.
- Your data is encrypted. This means no third-party can understand what it means UNLESS you give them access.
- There are internal controls as to who can see your data and for what purpose. For example, only the doctor, nurse, or lab technician directly working on your case can see your health data.
- Our partners, team members, affiliates, providers, and agents are subject to vigorous data privacy agreements and are trained on how to handle data responsibly.
4. You Are in Control.
You have the right to:
- Access your data and understand how it’s used.
- Correct your information if it’s inaccurate.
- Request your records to share with other providers.
